Dr. IHsuan Tsai
Vandercook College of Music 3140 S. Federal St Chicago, IL 60616 Dear Professor Mixon, Thank you very much for presenting at our Tuesday Lecture Series. It is certainly an eye opening experience for us, using innovative approach to establish sight singing and ear training skills. I wish we had more than an hour to really practice more in depth. Hopefully you will be able to present again in the near future to explore more in details the method you introduced to us. Best wishes and we will keep in touch. Sincerely, IHsuan Tsai |
Donovan Mixon presented a great workshop to our jazz majors, demonstrating the expressive power of moveable-do solfege. He was very engaging, challenging the students' hearing with exercises ranging from relatively easy to truly ear-bending. Highly recommended for for his inspiring advocacy of ear training as an invaluable tool for improvisors.
